About Posh Pooch Kennels

Hello and welcome to Posh Pooch Kennels – where comfort meets craftsmanship and every kennel is made with love. We're a small, family-run business based in the heart of York, creating bespoke outdoor homes for the pets who hold the biggest place in our hearts.

We’ve always shared our lives with animals – dogs, cats, and even the occasional hedgehog or fox who pops by for a bite to eat. Our love for animals runs deep, and like many pet lovers, we always wanted to give our furry companions the very best… shade on warm summer days, shelter from the winter chill, and a cosy space to call their own.

But no matter how hard we looked, we just couldn’t find anything that ticked all the boxes – nothing that was beautifully made, built to last, and felt just right.

So we decided to build it ourselves.

Mick, a former coach builder on the railways with a real talent for joinery, brought the craftsmanship. Dawn, ready for a new adventure after a 34-year career, brought the heart. Together, we created our very first kennel for a friend’s dog – and the joy it brought sparked something special… and so Posh Pooch Kennels was born.

Each of our kennels is lovingly handcrafted, thoughtfully designed, and tailored to suit both pet and owner. Whether it’s for a pampered pooch or a curious kitty, we create cosy, durable spaces that feel like home.

Because at Posh Pooch Kennels, it’s not just a kennel… it’s a labour of love – for all creatures great and small. 🐾❤️
